Summer School Economic Principles in Cell Biology
Our fourth Summer School Economic Principles in Cell Biology will take place in the Main Building of the University of Vienna from July 23 to July 26, 2025. Like our 2022, 2023, and 2024 summer schools in Paris, this program will explore topics from our open textbook, Economic Principles in Cell Biology, which we are developing as a community learning and teaching resource.
The summer school is open to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral researchers with a background in the natural sciences (including chemistry, biological sciences, physics, engineering, or mathematics). The course focuses on mathematical modeling of cellular systems and demonstrates how mathematical models and "resource allocation thinking" can enhance our understanding of cells. During the course, we collect feedback from participants to improve our textbook.
Registration will be open from January 15 to March 31 for in-person participation and until July 20 for online participation. If you wish to attend in person, we encourage you to register early.
Participation is free. However, on-site student participants not enrolled at an Austrian university are required to pay the Austrian Student Union fee of €24.70.
